Dr Cheok Chit Fang

Dr. Cheok Chit Fang earned her B.Sc. (Hons) from Imperial College London and her DPhil from the University of Oxford, followed by a Postdoctoral Fellowship at A*STAR, Singapore.
She is a cancer biologist whose research focuses on molecular vulnerabilities in cancers, identifying novel therapeutic targets, predictive biomarkers, and the interplay between DNA damage, repair, and cancer metabolism.

About the course

This module explains about the two main methods for preserving tissue specimens, namely, Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) and fresh frozen (FF) and the steps required in the tissue processing of samples, before they are ready for downstream staining and analysis.
